Reviving Sisterhood’s advocacy work includes public policy that aims to bring agency back to survivors of sexual violence. We believe and stand with survivors, taking action and mobilizing our network to support them through systems change.
Eliminating the Statute of Limitations for Reports of Sexual Abuse
After four years of advocacy led by courageous survivors, the criminal statute of limitations for reporting sexual assault was finally passed in 2021. Now, any survivor who experiences sexual violence in the state of Minnesota has their whole lifetime to report the crime. For many survivors, this change means more agency to take charge of their healing and more power to reclaim their stories.
