Economic Empowerment
Our leadership development program places a strong emphasis on economic empowerment, aimed at equipping our Muslim sisters with the skills and resources they need to thrive. We host workshops on topics ranging from investing to homeownership, and beyond—ensuring that every step we take aligns with our Islamic values. We also want to extend a special invitation for you to join our Whatsapp group, where you can connect with our Sisterhood and stay up to date about future events and opportunities.
Small Business Incubator
RISE proudly partnered with Aceeya Mohammud to empower a cohort of 10 Muslim women in transforming their business ideas into reality. Over the course of 8 weeks, these women engaged in an intensive, information-rich curriculum designed to equip them with essential skills for launching their ventures.
Halal Investing Workshop
RISE proudly hosted Samar Tariq, Regional Manager of Saturna Capital, for an engaging afternoon workshop on halal investing. Participants had the unique opportunity to explore a wide range of topics, including halal investment options, key diversification strategies, and aligning investments with personal values. The workshop covered essential aspects of financial planning, such as halal retirement options, long-term care, and inheritance planning, equipping women with the knowledge to make informed financial decisions and more. We’re excited to empower our community with the tools they need to build a financially sound future

In this seminar, we brought in real estate expert Dilek Hanedar to teach our sisters how to establish their credit score, what is needed to get pre-approved for buying a home, what the process of halal home buying is, what the current market looks like, the difference between halal and normal lenders, and more.
